I got a KryoFlux so that I could image the original disks from some FM TOWNS software packages I recently got a hold of. The FM TOWNS, along with the NEC PC98 and Sharp X68000, all use a different physical format for their high-density disks from the 1.44 MB standard that dominated the West. The Japanese standard was a 1.26 MB format, using 77 tracks with eight 1024-byte sectors per track. The KryoFlux doesn't come with an image profile for this format out of the box, but by copying the "MFM sector image" preset and adjusting the settings as pictured, to expect 1024 bytes sectors and 360 RPM signal timing, I was able to successfully save images of some original disks, and load them up in the Tsugaru FM TOWNS emulator.
